Hi Cat ... Happy to be part of the group! Yep, I find this site a little confusing too but absolutely believe in the whole concept. There is a major shift in consciousness taking place and I want to be part of that. The quote you used is one of my favourites ... Be the Change ...

Welcom Ahiya.. Hey what part of Israel are you from? I backpacked with a friend through Canda for a while and he often spoke of Haifa.

At 9:14pm on April 18, 2009, Catriana Mulholland said… It's gret to have you here Pablo. I really miss New York. I didn't get much over to Brooklyn unforutnately. But I was part of a project in Harlem for a couple of summers and I spent a bit of time up in the Bronx. We used to go downtown a lot though. Remember a big Salsa party at the Twin Towers. Didn't want to go back after Sept 01. Like to remember it the way it was. Hey, have you read Rob's comment (Scroll down) and the story of the 100th Monkey. I thought you might find it interesting :) Cat Delete Comment

Hey...Pablo...I went and replied to you on my personal homepage by mistake...So I'll just cut and past it all to here...so it doesn't get confusing.

Rob, this is so amazing, I hope you don't mind if I cut and paste what your reply from the Discussion topic above (Turning Point) and put it here for everyone to read...I found it so encouragin and inspiring...esp your extra egs of the animals :)

ROB WROTE:
have enjoyed the discussions on the turning points recently. At what point does humanity change, emerge or evolve?

Malcolm Gladwell in his book "Tipping Point" looks at the idea of trends reaching a critical mass, having reached a level the trend starts it's own momentum. The idea of critical mass is also explored by various people in the concept of the hundredth monkey, the idea behind this is remarkable.

Assume a bunch of islands and monkeys living on these islands. The monkeys have potatoes that need to be washed before they are really delicious. The monkeys start off eating the earth covered potatoes, and then possibly by accident a monkey finds out that washing the spud in the river makes it more edible and better tasting. Other monkeys see this and copy, pretty soon monkeys all over the place are washing the potatoes. The 100th monkey idea says that once a critical mass or monkeys are washing the potatoes, suddenly and without reason all the monkeys (even the ones on other islands) know how to do this. The 100th monkey is the turning point.

Now, as far as what I can gather, there is no scientific or observed instance of this.... but I know that the phenomenon exists. Elephants will only breed if there is enough space to allow new individuals. Barn Owls will lay between 1 and a dozen eggs depending on whether there is an abundance of food or not. It would seem that there is a consciousness above the individual that regulates these things. Carl Jung spent a lot of time on the idea of a global or mass consciousness. Eckhart Tolle talks about this in his book "A new Earth".

We all acknowledge that change has to happen, are we clear on why and in what direction? What do we need to do or think about in order to ensure the best change happens for humanity?
