CELEBRATION EARTH IS A LEAD EVENT OF THE CULTURE OF PEACE INITIATIVE
Celebration Earth is a festival for peace that originated on the island of Okinawa, that welcomes global cooperation and participation and seeks to practice the ‘Peace Day, Every Day’ spirit envisioned by the 'Culture of Peace' UN designated Peace Messenger Initiative and embodied by the ‘International Day of Peace.’ Through this joyful series of events, we wish to gift the world a model of international peace and inner peace. People around the world are increasingly concerned about the impact of war and such environmental calamities as deforestation and global warming. Many feel powerless to do something about it. Celebration Earth offers an avenue of positive action and empowerment and is all inclusive - everyone's invited to participate. Celebration Earth empowers by providing a framework and connection that can be useful to individuals and the global community. By promoting the positive actions and events of our member organisations and individuals through our the various networks and communities, Celebration Earth enables them to deliver their message to the world. Celebration Earth Is Free!.No one has to pay to join. We have no budget whatsover. We each create our own activity and call on others in the network to support us. This support can come in many forms; participating, volunteering, promoting, you name it. Having a succefull, high profile group running on no money enables people to see that all you need to succeed is the will. CELEBRATION EARTH 2009 OFFICIALLY CLOSED ON SEPT 21ST, THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE And featured a parade of nations, a free concert by Kina Shoukichi, who now represents Okinawa as a Senator in the Japanese Diet who along with fellow Celebration Erath Co-Founder Paul Coleman gave a keynote address from the steps of Okinawa`s Prefectural building, and culminated with a tree plantin and peace pole ceremony at the Itoman Winery VIDEO: PARADE OF NATIONS INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE EVENT REACHES THOUSANDS IN OKINAWA -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Senator Kina Shoukichi and his band Champloose perform his huge hit Hana and finish it off with an Earth Jump at the 2009 Tokyo Earthday Event. THE NAKATANI EARTHWALKING TREE PLANTING FAMILY (APRIL 2009) This is bound to be a very high profile event as Koichi has earned himself a solid repution for his previous tree planting journeys walks from the north to the south of Japan. Since the birth of his son last year has become widely known as the 'Tree Planting Father.' Already Koichi is generating a lot of support and attention and will soon be featrued in a five part special on Japan's Asahi TV Network. --------------------------- Yuji Miyata's' Greening The Olympics' Walk To London Began: January 1st 2009 in Korea - Completed Korea & Okinawa Next leg: April 22nd Taiwan. Will Finish: July 2012 in London Yuji, who participated in the Earthwalker Paul Coleman's 'Greening The Olympics walk from Hong Kong to Beijing continues the mission all the way to London

Earth Jumps have been happening around the world since December 2008, when the first one held at Shuri Castle, Okinawa. Jumps have taken place in Hawaii, California, Scotland, Korea, Chile, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Ethiopea, South Africa and more. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Major Celebration Earth Talk Shows Include May 20th – June 10th 2009: Japan Tour of Jeunesse Park, Paul Coleman and Konomi Kikuchi Jeunesse Park is the Founder and Executive Director of Food and Trees For Africa won the 2007 UNEP Sasakawa Prize, which is considered to be the world's foremost environmental prize. Talks shows with feature Japanese activist and comedian, Tentsukuman Earthwalker Paul Coleman and his wife author Konomi Kikuchi. Celebration Earth Monorail Clean Ups: Half of Okinawa's mono rail stations have already been cleaned, by Celebration Earth along with partner 'Roots and Shoots' (Jane Goodalls organisation) are doing weekly clean ups around the Naha (Okinawa's capital) Monorail stations.

Trees were planted throughout Japan, Okinawa and Taiwan and on Peace day in Okinawa, Japan and Vietnam This list does not incude all events and as the year proceeds many more are expected.
